Traffic Control - State Route 837
Sat. Dec 17th 2016

While the Engine was en route back to the station after clearing the earlier vehicle accident, crews encountered multiple vehicles stuck in the "S" bends on State Route 837. Two Ambulances, a box truck, and one U-Haul, were stuck coming up the hill between the Cemetery and the Residence at Hilltop. The Engine crew assisted with traffic control and getting both Ambulances moving up the hill again. Brush 63 responded from the station bringing a few bags of salt to assist with getting the box truck off the hill. Special thanks to the Good Samaritan with the salt spreader that salted the road enabling us to get traffic moving again and to Medic 940 for providing a vehicle to alert traffic of the situation as they approached. Township road crews salted the affected section of 837 for Penn DOT and the roadway was opened back up to traffic.

Units on Scene: Engine 63, Brush 63
